Calson Piping was founded 12 years ago by Director, Nelson Padachy as a means to bridge the gap between operational requirements and service delivery in the Boiler making Industry. Currently Calson Piping is a national company that is privately owned, operating from Johannesburg and Cape Town as their main branches. The company services various industries, including but not limited to fabrication and installation of pipe work, tank cleaning and corrosion control, valves, pumps and structural fabrication, pressure testing and specialised welding. Calson Piping is a Level 1 BBBEE, 100% Black owned company of which 59% is Female owned. We encourage a culture of safety and safe work practices and are genuinely client focused, constantly seeking improvements to our products/service delivery in a competitive market.

OUR SERVICES

Tank Cleaning
We undertake cleaning of tanks. This consists of tank isolation, product transfer, gas-freeing and de-slugging, residue removal, and when necessary, grit blasting. All work is done in accordance with SANS 10089-1 and API 653 standards.

Tank Corrosion Control
We perform coating solutions to reduce the onset of tank corrosion (internal and external).

Tank Repair and Modifications
We offer tank repairs, routine maintenance and tank modification solutions. All work done on tanks is within the API standard. Tank repair and modification comprises a number of processes including:

  • Surface preparation
  • Scab Welding
  • Patch plate installation
  • Re-Weld/Seal Weld
  • Floor/Shell plate replacement
  • Removal of redundant equipment
  • Installation of pad plate or nozzle
  • Internal floating roof and tank floating blanket repair
  • Tank foundation and membrane
  • Hand rails
  • Pump Maintenance
  • Pump Removals
  • Pump Installation
  • Casting of Pump plinths and containment areas
Pipe welding carried out by qualified/coded welders in accordance to ASME IX.

Welding carried out in accordance to company owned, AIA certified weld procedure specifications.

Supply and installation of valves. Valve maintenance and pressure testing

Hydro-static and pneumatic testing carried out on pipe work, tanks, pressure vessels, air receivers, autoclaves, fuel bowsers, air eliminator units, pressure relief valves, Internal Floating Roof Pontoons.

API and third-party witnessing arranged on request.

Steel structures for canopies, roofing, or lifting equipment made to client specification. Staircases, platforms and tank bridges are also manufactured by Calson Piping. Pipe support structures made to specification and installed complete with civil work where necessary. Foundational civil work and safe erection of structures.
